How to Use Your Pen Drive as RAM?

How to Use Your Pen Drive as RAM?

If your computer seems slow, and you have already gone through making sure there are no viruses, spyware, or adware on the system, it may be because your system needs more RAM (Random Access Memory). RAM is the short term memory of the computer. The more RAM you have, the faster the process is. It works with the processor to multi-task. RAM can easily be added to your system if you are not already at maximum capacity for your motherboard, and you have available slots. However, RAM can get expensive, and even after you max out your motherboard you may need more. Using your Pen Drive as RAM is a quick, easy, and not to mention, cheaper way to increase system memory. Especially for those who use Games on their PC they will face many problems due to RAM. So, here I am going to show you how to use your pen drive as RAM. I have explained below for Windows 7 OS. For others, it might be slight different.

Step 1 : Go to Start menu and click on Control Panel.
Step 2 : Click on System and Security, and then select System. Below is the screen shot for you.

Step 3 : Now select Advanced System Settings from the left side.
Step 4 : The dialog box will open in Advanced tab, click on Settings, then go to Advanced tab.
Step 5 : In Performance area, just click on Change
Step 6 : In Windows 7, the box Automatically manage paging file size for all drives come prechecked, so we have to uncheck it to perform the operation.
Step 7 : Now, from the local drives list, click on your Pen Drive letter, e.g. E and set the Custom Size for it. If you have 4 GB Pen Drive, then enter 700 in Initial Size and 3072 in Maximum Size and hit Set. Below it the screen shot for your reference.

Step 8 : Now Restart your PC and enjoy your fast and super system.
